The Shoki word which is a Yoruba word for getting down with the opposite s*x or in one word ‘qu*ckie’ has since its inception gone round like a wildfire. Cutting across all tribes in Nigeria, the ‘shoki’ dance apparently is here to stay.Even the banning of one of the popular songs that shot out the ‘shoki’ dance has proven not to affect the influence of the shoki dance in Nigeria.
Now before moving deep, Shoki is a verb in Yoruba language, but with these dance evolution, there is now more to it than being a verb. Many strive hard to dance this shoki dance well, hence its rampant acceptance both home and abroad.
This new dance has obviously taken the shine from dance steps like skelewu, Etighi and probably the then proclaimed Yahooze and galala. Various Memes have even come out, making the shoki dance a necessity for every dance lover.
However, the ‘shoki’ dance is a kinda dance that makes the dancer looks like an imb*cile…while trying to twist both legs and arms altogether to one side of your body.
