President Goodluck Jonathan on
Saturday urged all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of unity and continue
to work for the good of the country.
Jonathan made the call during the commissioning of the over N600m
Jubilee Resort and Leadership Centre built inside the premises of the
National Christian Centre, Central Business District, Abuja by the
Christian Association of Nigeria.
The President said CAN was able to achieve the feat because of unity. He said Nigerians must emulate the association. He said, “With unity of purpose, the body of Christ can achieve greater things. “Nigerians should imbibe the spirit of unity and continue to work for the progress of the nation. “The Christian Association of Nigeria has done it. We can also do it.”
Jonathan also described leadership as the greatest asset of every society. Jonathan urged the leadership of the CAN to ensure that the proceeds
from the facility are used to maintain the building and the National
Christian Centre.
He said the era in which the association goes cap in hand to beg for
assistance whenever there are urgent needs to meet should end with the
inauguration of the facility.
The President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, said the idea behind
the building of the facility was to build a five-star accommodation with
Godly atmosphere for residents and those who visit the Federal Capital
Territory.
Oritsejafor lauded members of the association and others who donated generously in order to make the dream a reality. Plaques were presented to individuals who contributed to the construction.
