‘Dame Angelina Jolie’, sounds good doesn’t it?
Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie received an honorary Damehood from Queen Elizabeth today at the Buckingham Palace.
The ‘Tomb Raider’ star
was presented with the Insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George by Queen Elizabeth
II. Angelina was recognized with the honor for the work she has done to
raise awareness against sexual violence around the world.
Having gotten married to Brad Pitt only a few weeks ago, this is the second title the new bride has received recently.
Speaking on her Damehood, Angelina Jolie states, “To
receive an honour related to foreign policy means a great deal to me,
as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to. Working on PVSI and
with survivors of rape is an honour in itself. I know that succeeding
in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of
mine.”
According to reports Brad Pitt and all of the Jolie-Pitt children joined Angelina for the event.
