Buhari sacks Paul Boroh as Amnesty Coordinator

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday sacked his Special Adviser on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.).


In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President also named Prof. Charles Dokubo as his replacement.

Gunmen kidnaps Edo State Oil & Gas Commission Chairman's Wife

Mrs Augustina Uwadiae, a staff of Egor Local Government Council, in Edo State, was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers last Friday. The victim, who is the wife of the Chairman, Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGRADEC) Mr Vincent Uwadiae, was kidnapped at Ugbiyokho community on her way home from work.

Mr Uwadiae, who confirmed the incident on telephone interview with journalists, said that her kidnappers were yet to make demand for ransom payment.

Godsday Orubebe Acquitted over Suspected N1.97bn Contract Scam

An Abuja High Court has acquitted former Minister of Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe, who is standing trial on a six-count charge of N1.97 billion contract fraud filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
Orubebe alongside the Assistant Director at the Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs, Oludare Davis Alaba, and the Director of Contracts, Gitto Costruzioni Generali Nig. Ltd., Ephraim Towede Zari,
Were standing trial for allegedly diverting N1.97 billion meant for the compensation of owners of properties on Eket Urban section of the East-West Road in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

President Buhari to Launch Economic Recovery & Growth Plan

President Buhari will launch the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020 tomorrow April 5th.

A statement released by Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, states that the launch of the Economic recovery plan would help in the furtherance of the current administration's drive to sustain and build on the successes so far recorded in tackling corruption, improving security and re-revamping the economy.

Court orders forfeiture of Diezani Alison-Madueke’s N34 billion

Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court Lagos, has ordered the forfeiture of about N34 billion linked to former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke. Anti-graft agency, EFCC, had asked the court to order the forfeiture after its investigations showed that the money was diverted from NNPC's accounts.

Delivering judgement in the application filed by EFCC, Justice Hassan said he was satisfied with the evidence provided by the EFCC.

Buhari orders sack of DG's of NTA, VON, FRCN, NOA, others

President Buhari has approved the sack of the heads of the six information-related parastatals under the ministry of information and culture. According to a statement shared on the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture's Facebook wall, Lai Mohammed, who is the Minister of information and culture announced their sack at a meeting he held with the chief executives. The statement reads;

As the probe into the $2.1 billion arms deal continues, the Economic and Fi­nancial Crimes Com­mission (EFCC), over the weekend arrested a former Director of Mili­tary Intelligence (DMI), Ma­jor General Wiwa, younger brother to late Ken Saro Wiwa, former Ogoni human rights activist.
