The Social Democratic Party (SDP) yesterday held its primaries for different elective positions in Ogun State. The
congress held in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, returned all elected
office holders, who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to
SDP as candidates for 2015 polls.
Senate Adegbenga Kaka was
elected to return to the upper chamber from Ogun East, Akin Odunsi got
the nod to continue as candidate for Ogun West. Ogun Central was
left open because the incumbent occupant, Senator Gbenga Obadara, had
already been endorsed as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.
Others
include Adekunle Adeyemi, Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency; Abudu
Balogun, Ijebu North, Waterside and Ijebu East Federal Constituency;
Yinka Odewole, Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode, Ijebu North; Buraimoh Bukola,
Sagamu, Ikenne, Remo North and Olumide Osoba, Obafemi Owode, Odeda &
Abeokuta North.
Similarly, all members of the House of Assembly, who recently decamped from APC to SDP were given automatic tickets. They
are Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Abeokuta South State Constituency 2,
Elizabeth Anifowose, Obafemi Owode State Constituency and Oludaisi
Elemide, Odeda State Constituency.
